| Description: This requirement is to provide Section 508 Program Support Services for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The requirement is governed by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 which requires all federal agencies to make Information and Communications Technology (ICT) procured, developed, maintained, or used accessible to people with disabilities. This requirement serves as DHS’ sole support which provides the vision and strategic direction to ensure compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The Contractor shall support broad-based accessibility technical assistance including but not limited to Section 508 electronic content remediation support, code reviews, needs assessments, assistance with technology integration tasks, support for the DHS Accessibility Helpdesk, accessibility technical support, management of the Trusted Tester Program, and development and management of accessibility related training. The Contractor shall provide technical support to perform Section 508 compliance IT governance, training delivery, and services tasks. Section 508 Subject Matter experts who conduct testing shall possess at a minimum the DHS Trusted Tester Certification version 5 or later and shall maintain up-to-date Trusted Tester certification throughout the life of the requirement. |
