Requirements Title: Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Review Technical Support
Description: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) seeks technical assistance for the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office, established under the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Assistance Act (Public Law 117-180). This office was created to evaluate, process, and compensate claims for damages caused by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire and subsequent floods in New Mexico. FEMA anticipates handling approximately 28,000 claims, with a significant focus on providing timely, accurate, and claimant-centric services. The contractor will support FEMA in achieving objectives such as efficient claims processing, compliance with program guidance, quality control, and customer service. Tasks include administrative support, claims reviews, site inspections, appeals handling, and other specialized roles. The contractor must ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations while minimizing the burden on claimants and meeting established timelines. The contractor will deploy a scalable and cost-effective staffing structure, including Program and Deputy Program Managers, claims reviewers, quality control personnel, and subject matter experts. Staff must be capable of mobilizing within 72 hours of notification and adhering to core operational guidelines. Performance will include processing claims, assessing duplication of benefits, and providing compensation recommendations. The contractor must also manage site inspections, develop comprehensive proofs of loss, and ensure quality control. Work will be conducted in New Mexico and remotely, with a Joint Recovery Office established in Santa Fe.
